All About Rebekah

Few employees are as well versed in Breakout Bras' workplace culture and operations as Rebekah. She's been with the company since 2009 and says, "I do a little bit of everything at Breakout Bras. I've been with the business for eight years and have been cross-trained on just about everything from warehouse work, to sizing, to acting as assistant manager when needed." Rebekah is always willing to work where she's needed, and it's obvious she loves helping people.

Rebekah has a degree in Human Services from Southern Wesleyan University. While she returned to her favorite intimates retailer after college, Rebekah reflects, "I feel like I utilize my degree at Breakout Bras when I'm working with customers and even when I interact with coworkers. My customers often talk to me about personal things, and I feel like I use my degree when I give them advice." Even though Rebekah spends most of her time helping out in Breakout Bras' warehouse, she still gets the opportunity to brighten customers' days a few times a week, and other employees enjoy being near her in the back of house.

She's definitely a quirky character. When asked if she had any special talents she responded, "I don't have many special talents, but one thing I can do is make a Helluva Blanket. I started sewing blankets when my friend had a baby, and I wanted the baby to have something unique just for her. Now I've sewn eight to ten mini and full-sized blankets, and I love it." Her blanket making endeavors exemplify how compassionate Rebekah is. It's a trait she probably adopted from her biggest heroes, her mom and dad.

She admires them as both a unit and individuals. Rebekah explains, " My parents foster kids, and as a family, we have been fostering for eight years. My parents have put themselves and our family out there for kids who don't have families of their own or kids whose families are struggling."  She adds, " My mom is a saint. She has the biggest heart of anyone I've ever met. She would give the shirt off her back if she thought it would benefit someone. She's my best friend, the one I go to when I need advice, and someone I just like to hangout with to watch TV. She taught me to sew, and I am so thankful for the relationship we have."

Rebekah is truly grateful for her parents' consistent love and support, and it shows when she speaks about her dad. She calls her her "go-to for sound reasoning, the one I can talk to without feeling pressured or chastised." Rebekah also noted, "He is such a giving person, but he has different gifts to give than my mom. [My dad] is loving and sweet, but instead of sharing [tangible] things, he offers his skills."

She explains, "He is my handyman and the one who makes sure we all keep going; when my car breaks, I know daddy can fix it nine times out of ten! He literally rebuilt our entire house from the inside out, built both of our barns by himself, and did all the electrical work for all our properties. He's so smart it's crazy." It's safe to say that Rebekah wouldn't be the same without her family. She made a point of emphasizing the fact that "[her] parents are [her] and [her] brothers' biggest support system. They are amazing in every way, and [she] loves them."

It's likely that the only thing Rebekah loves as dearly as her family is a good plate of Mexican food. She admits, "I could eat Mexican food everyday without ever getting tired of it, and I do eat it a lot which is why I go to the gym like a crazy person." Giving a shoutout to one of her Breakout Bras friends, Rebekah also said, "Thank God Alyssa goes with me for support these days!"
