Breakout Bras offers a unique bra-fitting experience unlike any other. Our process is different from almost anything else available in the United States, and because of this, people tend to have lots of questions. Below are the most common questions and concerns:

Is a tape measure used when getting fitted?

Our fitters do not use a tape measure but instead size by sight. There's so much more that goes into determining your bra size than just taking a few measurements. No one person is created like another, and the same goes for bras. A person’s breast size, shape, volume, and distribution, as well as their body shape, torso height, etc., can all impact the size needed, not to mention finding the right styles after that first part is done. Our highly trained fitters are experts at visually determining your size without the uncomfortable process of touching and measuring your body. This process includes taking into consideration the things mentioned above that a tape measure just can't accurately measure. This has been our process for decades now, and we're great at it, but if you really want us to take your measurements, just ask, and we'll happily oblige.

What is a “fit check” and why do I need one?

Breakout Bras is fiercely committed to getting you in the right size and style. Our fitters are all very well trained and do an amazing job at fitting our customers, but for consistency and to ensure your complete satisfaction, we have a senior fit manager double check each fit. A fit check also takes place when a fitter needs extra help or advice with a trickier fit.

Why is there no product in your showroom for customers to pick out and try on for themselves?

We have such a vast selection, as you can see below in a picture of our warehouse stocked full with over 50,000 individual styles, sizes, and colors, and we know how all of them fit. Not all styles work for all women, and choosing the right style is crucial for your bra-buying success. There are different styles that work better for different body and breast shapes. For example, bandless bras tend to work well for women with a shorter torso, while molded cup bras work well for women with less mass at the top of their breasts. We take the guesswork out of the process by only bringing styles with proven success for your shape and size. We'll, of course, bring you bras as close to what you want as possible. Our selection is so vast, you'll probably leave with multiple bras that you absolutely love!

Is there a fee charged to get a fitting?

No, we don’t charge a fee for fittings. We do, however, expect customers who come in for a fitting to come in with the intent of purchasing. We're very happy to offer our time and expertise to people who understand the valuable service we provide and aren’t looking to leave after their fitting to purchase from somewhere else. Besides, we have the best prices around anyway. We have amazing discounts available when you join our loyalty program, and we also price match. There’s never a reason to leave, thinking you’ll find a lower price somewhere else.

Are appointments required for a fitting?

No, you don’t need an appointment for a fitting. You can come in at any time for a fitting, but be sure to note that we take our last fitting one hour before closing time. We do accept appointments, however, so if you’d like to make an appointment, you can do so by clicking here.

Why do you take your last appointment one hour before closing time?

This policy is for both customers and employees. Fittings can take anywhere from 10 minutes to 2+ hours, with the average session being about 30–45 minutes. Taking our last fitting one hour before closing ensures enough time for a fitting while making sure our employees can close on time. While they’re always eager and happy to help, they’ve also worked a full day at a busy retail store, and they want to go home on time, just like everyone else wants to do. This policy ensures that they go home on time more often than not.

Do you offer in-store pickup?

We do offer in-store pickup services as well as free shipping directly to your home for all online website orders. Please take special note of our return policy for any items ordered for pickup.

Do you offer gift certificates?
